Reno Events This Weekend June 5-7, 2026 — Banda MS, Juvenile, Sweat at RLT, First Friday Art Walk & Farmers Markets
By Ask Reno
June starts fast. The Grand Sierra runs a three-show concert week — The HU & Apocalyptica (with The Rasmus) Thursday lead-in, Banda MS Saturday night anchor, and Juvenile and the 400 Degreez Band closing the weekend Sunday. Sweat at Reno Little Theater continues its acclaimed Pulitzer run. The Aces head out on the road for a six-game series at Salt Lake. Summer farmers markets are in full swing at both Idlewild Park (Sundays) and Incline Village.
Plus — the big one in the calendar — the Nevada State Fair returns to the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center the following weekend (June 11-13) for the first time in 16 years.
Coming off the Reno River Festival weekend (May 29-31)? This is the bridge weekend before the State Fair / Reno Rodeo kickoff.

Thursday Lead-In, June 4
The HU & Apocalyptica (with The Rasmus) — Grand Sierra Resort
The unusual co-bill of the year. Mongolian rock band The HU (throat-singing + traditional Mongolian instruments + full metal arrangements — yes, really) shares the Grand Theatre with Finnish cello-metal pioneers Apocalyptica, plus special guest The Rasmus. 7 PM. Tickets through the GSR box office. Worth noting in case you can pull a Thursday night out — this isn't coming around again.
Friday, June 5
First Friday Art Walk — Midtown / Downtown
Reno's monthly art walk fills participating galleries and pop-ups across Midtown and downtown. Typically 5–9 PM, free to stroll, drinks and snacks at most participating stops. The unofficial start of the summer evening rhythm in town. (Check participating venues for the June lineup closer to the date.)
Sweat — Reno Little Theater
Second weekend of the run. 7:30 PM. Still the strongest theater ticket in town.
Cypress (South Virginia) — Salsa Night Thursday + Weekend Recurring
Cypress runs Salsa Night every Thursday at 8 PM (Thu June 4 is the next one — good prelude to the long weekend). Tuesday Open Decks 8 PM and Wednesday Open Mic 7 PM ($5 cover for both) round out the week. No big headliner billed for the June 5-7 weekend specifically — Salsa Night Thursday is the move if you want a Cypress weekend.
Cargo Concert Hall — June 5 booking pending
Cargo's confirmed upcoming shows are Dr. Fresch Sat June 13 (with Yo Adrian!, Obi-Wan-Solo b2b Butterz, DJKY) and The Emo Night Tour Fri June 19. Check cargoreno.com for any June 5 additions.
Saturday, June 6
Banda MS — Grand Sierra Resort *(anchor show)*
The biggest concert of the weekend. Banda MS — the chart-topping regional Mexican band from Mazatlán — headlines the Grand Theatre. 8 PM. One of the biggest banda bookings the GSR has done in years.
Sweat — Reno Little Theater
7:30 PM.
Around Town
The first full Saturday of June usually means the Truckee River fills up — the riverwalk between Wingfield Park and the Idlewild bridge is the best free move in town. Pack a lunch, walk the loop.
Sunday, June 7
Juvenile and the 400 Degreez Band — Grand Sierra Resort *(Sunday anchor)*
New Orleans hip-hop legend Juvenile (Cash Money Records, the iconic 400 Degreez album, "Back That Azz Up", "Slow Motion") brings the full 400 Degreez Band to the Grand Theatre. 8 PM show, 7 PM doors. A 90s/2000s nostalgia run that fans plan trips around.
Riverside Farmers Market — Idlewild Park
The first June edition. 10 AM–2 PM. Local farms, prepared food, live music. Easiest family Sunday plan in town.
Sweat matinee — Reno Little Theater
2 PM.
