Local Tips

Set multiple alarms

4:30 AM comes early. The Dawn Patrol is worth it, but you'll be exhausted if you're not a morning person.

Bring layers

Reno mornings in September are 40-50°F. By 9 AM it's 70°F+. Dress in layers you can shed.

Pack breakfast

Food vendors don't open until 6 AM and lines get long. Bring coffee, donuts, and hand warmers.

Saturday is the busiest day

If you want smaller crowds, Friday morning or Sunday are better bets.

The Glow Show is worth staying for

Most people leave after the morning launch. The nighttime Glow Show is equally spectacular and less crowded.
