How to Stack the Weekend
- Pure rodeo weekend: Cattle drive Thursday Jun 18 noon → Xtreme Bulls Thursday night → carnival Friday afternoon → PRCA performance Saturday night → Father's Day rodeo Sunday. Park at GSR every night.
- Live music tour: Billy Bob Thornton Fri at Bartley → Blind Pilot/John Craigie Sat at The Hangar → Hello Summer Sat afternoon at Atlantis. Three very different sounds, three different parts of town.
- Pride + punk: Reno Punk Rock Pride Sat at Note-Able → Giant Skunk Sat at Club Underground. The honest, community-rooted Pride weekend that doesn't cost $50.
- Father's Day plan: Saturday rodeo, Sunday brunch at Pine State Biscuits or Liberty Food & Wine, then A WORLD of DANCIN matinee at the Pioneer with the kids.
- Free / cheap weekend: BBQ, Brews & Blues on THE ROW (free entry, pay-per-vendor) → Hello Summer at Atlantis (free) → cattle drive Thursday (free) → grounds-only Rodeo ticket Saturday $10 → Riverside Farmers Market Sunday. Could do the whole weekend under $40 if you skip the headliners.
Reno Aces — Home Stand vs. Albuquerque
The Aces continue their home stand at Greater Nevada Field this weekend. Father's Day games typically include kid run-the-bases promotions — check `milb.com/reno` for game times and giveaway nights.
Practical Notes
- Rodeo traffic: Expect slow-downs on N. Wells Ave, McCarran, and Sutro from ~5 PM each rodeo night. Use the GSR or Enterprise Rd. shuttles.
- BBQ, Brews & Blues parking: Use the GSR garage on Plumas, or any of the downtown casino garages — most validate. Avoid the THE ROW pull-throughs Friday/Saturday night.
- Bartley Ranch for Billy Bob: Lawn show. Bring blankets and low chairs. Sunset show — afternoon sun hits hot, bring water. Lot fills up; carpool.
- The Hangar (Blind Pilot): Outdoor airfield venue at the Reno-Tahoe Airport. Doors usually 6 PM for sunset shows. Bring layers — the temperature drops fast after dark.
- Note-Able: Small. Get there at doors or you'll be standing in the gravel lot.
